Had a nice few days on the water lately and also had some good company to keep me sane while the bite was slow. I guess starting from Dundee Falls looking for a biggun that shredded my braid under a rock, I got to score a few smallies & a small black crappie. The best smallie(12”-13"), took me straight under a rock in a snag and I literally waited and worked around him for about 7 minutes until something gave and he was free from the snag. Was expecting more just from the battle he gave me, these guys got fight!!

Next day was relaxing with the Chica and switched from trying for monsters to just trying...still a workout for me!!!

Got to see a nice school of smallies, didn't want ANYTHING to do with ANYTHING! Another nice school of Lm with some perch in the mix. A few great blue heron. And also heard the streaks of a really close vulture. It flew through some wooded area and SOMEONE

thought it was a bear, so we packed up quick n called it.

This guy took it deep and after removing the hook from his throat, tried reviving him for
10min but just kept going belly up. So I ate him for breakfast😆! Pretty good to, my 1st time trying perch actually!!

Back to the river the next day with a celebrity appearance by my buddy Sal!! Shot the shit, threw some back & scored some fish. I landed 1 pike, and set the hook on his
1st, cherry popped!! Then he landed two more decent pike on his own and landed a respectable river bruiser in the process!! Hope to get him out there more!🍻

Back at it the next day working the homemade lures again. Been having some really good results with the wooden jerkbait. So much so I had to resecure the hooks today because they felt a little shaky. But besides a few others, here's the largest of the esox I've gotten off of my homemade stuff. This girl taped out at 37” and weighed 8 1/2lbs! Hope my hooks stay secure, cause there's definitely more to come.
