Hopefully they will dump some of those big girls in WAYWAYANDA like they have in the past instead of dumping into trickle rivers....give them a fighting chance in a place where they can hold over & breed.

The meat fishermen got theirs already, how about helping the sustainable fisheries get stronger!!!!

Is GREEN TURTLE POND ON THE RADAR for the fall stocking?

neither waway nor green turtle pond get fall stockings. all the places that do get fall stocking the trout can hold over until at least next spring.

the complete map of the fall stockings is at http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/pdf...king_map15.pdf

green turtle pond will however get stocked during the "winter stocking" program next month on 11/23

Yes, the duck pond in Edison is definitely the place you want to stock large trout so the can "holdover"

if nothing eats them (people or birds) they'll at least make it through to the spring just fine and it gives the kids who live near there a chance at a fish that they'll remember catching for the rest of their lives... an investment in the future of NJ angling.

i never understand the hate on where DFW chooses to stock the fish. i think they do a great job with spreading them out so everyone gets a chance without having to drive an hour and a half. plus in the spring stockings, the waters that can hold fish through the summer do get thousands and thousands more trout than the put & take spots. sustainable fisheries are sustained, put and take fisheries are refilled, what's not to like?

I cut my teeth on sunfish and smallmouth bass in the Raritan river. I didn't "need" anyone to stock fish for me to get me interested in fishing.

I get why the put them in places like Roosevelt park pond and Echo lake, it's easy access to a large population Very few kids take advantage it's mostly meat fishermen. Also fishing ends when they freeze over which last couple of years as been Dec
Better to put them in the Rahway swift water spots. Why? Birds vs can't eat them, kids actily do fish for them (so kids fishing for my trout yesterday as I left for the airport) and most importantly provides a fishery all winter
Who doesn't want to get out on a warm Feb day and through some beaded nymphs for trout; maybe everyone wouldn't run to KLG

The hatchery raises over 600,000 trout per year. I think they can spare a few for the kids who can't afford waders.
