Anyone have a good way to cook Drum?????????????

Think I would play catch & release on the big ones Captain. I tried a few ways last year and nothing worked.
Of course I know ther are some much better cooks on this site than me.![]()

The big ones I let go.... But In the past I have cook them like striper on the grill. I just wanted to see if anybody would have a different way to cook them....

I've been told that some drum will have worms or parasites in them that can be seen.
Has anyone seen this? Can they be cut out like some cod worms? |

The worms I have seen were in the tail section, easily trimmed off. As far as cooking, I have cooked the rib sections with barbecue sauce. Very tasty, and the ribs were easy to pick up and chew the meat off!

Yes Drum can have worms and I would just cut that section on meat out. I am going to try the Idea of drum cakes with one and with the other I am going to try the cajaun spice. Thanks for the info.

I would cook it on a cedar board with any spices that you like, when it's done throw out the fish, and eat the board. i use the same recipie for bluefish
(LOL). just kidding the shrimpman
