There hasn’t been one aspect of fisheries science used for fishery management that’s been proven accurate .

Stuff that actually has been proven never even gets a chance for peer review


For what it’s worth I have a friend who has done much of the net samples for both NJ and Ny
He is constantly asked to drag in areas they Know they will not get what they require .

Intentional or not .
You won’t find steak sampling at a vegan buffet .

Capt. Dan, I agree with you. I saw a chart of the drag lines that they use . It's my under standing that they use the same lines every year. What happens when there's water temperature differences year to year? Fish move, currents change. Its like it's programmed to fail. No matter how hard they try they will fail if they are in the wrong place.
I always thought that what they told us is voodoo science.

Yeah you're confusing the goal of sampling surveys, it's not to find fish per se. You would set up in the same place year after year to see the relative difference in sample size - that's how you establish trends over time.

Your understanding of statistics and sampling procedures betrays not a hint of moniker. If you want to sample the population year after year, it has to be done randomly in areas that are in an around the actual migration route for that year. So basically, if the fleet is in 60’ all week, that is where they need to sample. If they are running up the river and the fleet is on the edges of Ambrose, that’s where you sample.

Spot on! NJ is such a corrupt state. We never had significant whales washing up dead on our beaches until they starting seismic testing the ocean floors for places to put the wind turbines. The "so called" govt. experts claimed it was due to speeding boats strikes. Why were there so many boat strikes during the years of the seismic testing? Many experts concluded that the seismic testing affected the inner sonar of the whales making them disoriented and unaware of passing ships. But that does not fit the narrative for the advocates of the offshore winds. It's all about money and the Gopher Shit Eating Grinning Murphy could care less just as long as his political interests are pushed forward and now we have his step sister running NJ. People are so stupid in this state!
