No idea myself, but my assumption is that they are the same fish coming through the surf right now, fall run, just these were more adventurous and made it up river. Likely to feast on 16 inch stockie trout that got washed down lol

Luke can't imagine how you landed bass that big with a river moving as fast as the pictures suggest using fresh water tackle. Impressive!
The distance bass migrate and the fact they can flourish in fresh and saltwater is incredible. You set the bar high on this one, will be a tough personal best to beat but lit if fun trying. Congrats on a great catch! Awesome pics. |
