First Largemouth of 2018!

I Landed my first Largemouth of 2018! It may also be the first largemouth I have caught in NJ in the month of February. I ended up getting pretty wet landing the fish - I was fishing from a precarious perch atop a lay down probably about 10 feet from the bank over water about 3 feet deep. The bass made a run for some branches and when I realized my line was wrapped I decided getting a little wet was worth catching my first fish of the year. Fish was caught in a local Union County honey hole on a 3/8 oz chatter bait with a 4” watermelon senko trailer. If you have never tried using a senko as a trailer on a chatterbait I highly recommend giving it a go, I have had a lot of luck with the rig. I also hooked and lost another larger bass.
