I was prepared for a late night call about his heart or a stroke but I am not prepared for the demensia and hallucinations. It is very hard to see. One minute he's with me, the next he is off somewhere else. Very disconcerting.

Sorry to hear this Steve I hope that there's a turn around for you. The way I used to handle this with my mom was I would bring up something that she would repeatedly would always talk about. As much as I could care less about that it always seemed to work for me. It seemed to get her out of that mind frame & have a little bit of normalcy even if it was temporary but it worked for me.
