i've seen lakes get completely ruined by trying to treat weeds. My suggestion would be to practice fishing weedless lures like soft swim baits rigged weedless on a wide gap hook. It's some of my favorite fishing. When i see thick weeds in summer i get a little excited...don't tell my wife.

it's our secret chrisper.i have seen lakes badly affected from chemical treatment but not partial dredging,sometimes the weeds can be too thick.

LM used to be fantastic for just that. My son and I couldn't get enough, and right up to very end, I mean, that lake was carpeted, rowing--they said--was impossible, but we did, and we caught fish left and right.
