Great catches all around guys.

Weekend was not good to me in terms of pike and great in terms of everything else.

But its coming and when it comes be ready.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Must be nice when you can get out and whack a big Pike on your lunch break. Hit the river for an hour today and yes it was high, yes it was almost unfishable, yes its as dirty as it gets. But 1 Pike decided she was hungry today. What a battle! Fish hit a 9 inch plug after a little twitch, twitch. All of the sudden, BOOM!!! This fish was all over the river jumping like a complete maniac. The aerial show was a sight to see. Finally I get the fish in the net and the damn net breaks and the fish almost flops back into the river. No, oh no, I'm saying to myself. Your not getting away from me you sexy Pike. Yep, I tackled her to the ground and got all banged up in the process. Put her back in the water while i goy my water, tape and Camera ready. All this while holding her by the tail so she wouldn't get stressed. Unbelievable!!! I need a new net, a bigger net! Here's the pics of the 36 1/2. The fight was nutz! Get out there guyz and girlz! The Pike have been hitting hard for over 3 weeks already.

Whoa hold on that Looks more like 36 3/8" to me! Guys, we need a hero...someone needs to take that pike out! I rigged eddies net to break like you guys hired me to do, looks like it didn't matter...the guy is nuts. Hope you don't get pink eye from that dirty water splashing in your face!

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! You really are a funny guy for someone that didn't know the magic plug that unlocks the secrets of certain NJ water bodies!!! LOL! Bottom jaw is cut off so it could've been 36 7/8 or 37. Things that make ya go, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

Don't know how u guys fish in shorts. I can't think of a worst place to fish in shorts and t shirt than the passaic. Places I go are swarming with mosquitoes and thats just one issue. Banks lined with not only poison ivy, but stinging nettle and tree roots ready to trip you up. When I go there, I'm wearing gear made for jungle combat!

They're done spawning for sure. This one has been in the river for a while. First time I caught her was 6-7 years ago and her tail was the same then as it is now. Also one of the thickest fish in this stretch. Water was cool to the touch where I was fishing.

Due to work, home and family obligations I could only reserve 2 evenings to get a shot at a pike for this years pike-o-thon. I had to stay local so I spent the last 2 evenings on the same waters where our Ice Fishing Contest's biggest pike was caught. Last night I had the skunk, went back this evening with a different game plan and ended up with a pair of bass to 18". So I'm throwing in the towel and headed to the beach for the 4th. Our best pike veterans have a couple good fish on the board but I'm hoping to see a 40"+ fish posted up here by Sunday.
