I know about the 10hp rules on these lake. My jon boat has a 20hp on it with 2 Riptide Minn Kottas. Can I launch it and just use my electric troll motors? I have 3 batteries and a starter battery so I have plenty of juice. It's all on my 16ft. G-3 Jon boat

Should be fine as long as your 20hp motor is out of the water. I have seen guys on RVR with much bigger motors that keep them propped up while they use a 9.9.

No problem. I used to take my Aquasport with a 90 on the reservoirs.

You don't have to have your 20 out of the water, I use my 90 to steer sometimes and always have it down.

some places you need to have it out of the water, but idk about these. Usually the electric only places it needs to be lifted out at all times, but the 9.9hp places i guess it just can't be on.

My 16' deep v has I a 50hp which I keep down to stear my 9.9hp. Just can't run the 50. However, watch the winds on the Valley, if they kick up you may need more than those two electric motors. Be safe out there. Watch the fog on Spruce Run it can happen real fast, GPS very helpful.
