An old timer once time told me that blackfish hate noise and vibration. He said that all the sinkers on a party boat banging the rocks causes them to shut down after sitting a while on one spot. He reasoned that a smaller boat like a six pack or private boat will always out-fish a party boat. Any comments from others on this subject?
I fished on a non-sponser out of AC last year. The captain, an experienced diver, told us any noise from the boat scares the fish. He gave us hermit crabs for bait and wouldn't allow us to break them on his aluminum boat. We had to hold them in a rag in our hand to smash them with a hammer. My hand hurt for days.
