You make my point. Even with a 10 flounder limit its still more expensive than just buying the 10 fish( already fileted) a mile from your house.
Almost no one fishs for cheap food. Maybe the locals who walk down the street and cast off a dock and walk home. Many of us do it for fun. We invest a lot in upgrades in tackle. Newest lures, etc. Why do you think Circle hooks exist and in some species circle hooks are required? It's an expensive sport and hunter-gatherer guy has been priced out of that function. LOL Sure I'd like a 10x10" flounder limit too. But would that stingy catch limit stop me from going out on my own boat on a 57 degree sunny light wind end-of-March day with a friend? Some would decline. Many would not. Cabin fever is a factor too. May's a long way off Quote:
