Michael, the only salmon who truly bite be them Kings (Chinook) or Coho's are the ones that are moving in faster moving water.

They don't bite out of hunger they bite out of aggression because the fly is in their way.

Steelhead, Atlantic salmon, and Brown trout bite out of aggression as well as out of hunger, but mostly out of hunger.

When you fish in pools (deep slow moving water) where the fish are holding, you will line or floss or whatever you want to call it while at the same time get a few bites but those are far and few in between.

So you want to catch salmon who legitimately bite, fish the fast moving water.
