Agreed that that area of river is pretty "rain sensitive". From my experience it's best fished during dry streaks.

I never fished above Paterson and that was yrs ago as a kid.
Question: is there a boat ramp in that area??

There is a boat ramp at Aqueduct Park in Lincoln Park but I have no idea about how shallow some parts of the river are and how far that would be paddling a yak. Also, I've seen guys launch yaks in the Two Bridges area off Fairfield Rd.
