Showed up at the dock @ 0500 to find a group (Lefty Reeler, JMurr and Sportsfish USA with a grill and a 12 pack of Lattes!!

Everyone stored their stuff on the boat and we got ready to go. Got a call from our fearless leader saying he just woke up and wasn't gonna make it (translate this to 'it's cold, my bed and wife are hot and I ain't making THAT trade-off).

We selected starting positions at the rail according to order and me and 9 others had the midships and entire stern to ourselves. Guess someone heard this is a "bow bite" boat???

Fished off Red Church with spotty bite and the skating began. Some roasters, keepers and shorts came in here.

After giving this spot all we could we headed out to deeper water (dunno but I'm thinking we were @ "Green Acres"; you figure it out). We brought some more over the rails with Quanman Mark pulling a real nice 7-8#er and some nice 4-5#ers around the boat. Some caught, some didn't. Then the captain Bobby Quinn came back and told us someone got a nice fish in the bow. I sent his azz back up to find out WHO. The SAD news he returned with was "Fish Cakes???". OMG! Another 7-8#er.

A wiggle and some more fish then a HOOT from the bow that someone's got a nice fish on. DMac brings a nice fish to the net and Blackfish Bobby looks at me and say "That's a real nice piggy". Weighed it bouncing around 11#!!! The bar had been raised pretty damn high.

Some wiggles and fish with good bottom ALL AROUND THE BOAT on every drop then we headed back inshore to 40' somewhere off Long Branch. Again the catchers caught and the wanna-be's swung and missed.

The captain made one more move and keep us out until sundown; going above and beyond.

We weighed the fish in on the ride in; and will make this disclaimer: We asked EVERYONE to weigh in but some didn't think their fish were worthy of weighing. That ego can get in the way of a Mimi fishing trip ???

All weights are pounds/ounces

1. DMac 11/2 IN
2. Quanman 7/12 OUT
3. Fish Sticks 7/4 OUT
4. Shrimpman 5/4 IN
5. Foul Hook 5/1 IN
6. Bagel Boy 5/0 IN
7. D Rod 4/14 IN
8. KurtisB 4/9 IN
9. The Kid 4/9 IN
10. Blackfish Bobby 4/7 IN
11. Boston Pete 4/4 IN
12. Rayman/Grumpy's 3/15 IN
13. Scoundrel 3/12 IN
14. LAB 3/6 IN
15. J Murr 3/6 IN
16. Krueger 3/5 IN
17. MVP 3/1 IN
18. FinS 2/13 IN

19. Garone 2/12
20. Donand 2/12
21. Rob B 2/11
22. Sea Soda 2/8
23. Lefty Reeler 2/3
24. Scott Kearny 1/3

I'm sure I'll be corrected but DMac, The Kid and Blackfish Bobby had their limits. Some had NO keepers.

There will also be pictures on the Ocean Explorer's website and he may post a report too. Other's took pics throughout the day and will post. I bought a new camera and didn't fully charge it before the trip so I only have a few pics

Sorry Joe

The Phillie Pretzels were a big treat and appreciate it!

I knew I'd forget someone and it had to be you.......the quiet giant

My mind was not focused last night. I had a Wicked Wind Burn from the Liberal to my left and the Little Kid to my right S.A.M. all day long. At least The Kid caught LMAO!

Mike - Big ups for putting it together. Had some good times even if (though) I hacked it up....again. As mentioned, the bite was tough yesterday but the good company and awesome grub in the cabin made it an A+ day.

Props to Dennis with his personal best for Prelim honors @ 11.2#s

Long short....I'm in this Sunday by the 2 sweetest words in the English language.

De Fault.....De Fault!!!

Hoping this plays out like a zero to hero ending.

Lab, Thanks for putting this trip together. Takes a lot of effort to organize a trip this big and you did a bang up job at it. First class job. Food was amazing and thank you to everyone who brought something and to Tom (smokey Joe) for the absolutely amazing brisket and pulled pork. In fact I never seen so much food on a boat.

Catching my PB was highlight but the whole day was great.

I had a great time met some new faces and all around couldn't ask for better trip only thing is wish they chewed a little better tough picky bite had to work for it.

Looking forward to the MIMI next week.

what are we doing for food having smokey cater it or are we just all bringing some stuff to share. do we have a place to plug in a crock pot on the mimi

Oh yeah lab... as for you comment in the beginning during the odds was that enough for the guy from MO. LOL

Sorry didn't post last night, but I had to drive my ass back to PA and it was food and sleep when I got home.
