The Gambler has had some good days fluking this past week. The action has been kind of weather dependent. Too much or too little drift makes for less bites.
It's kinda interesting to note that on one of our recent trips, 80% of our fluke catch was in the slot range. I don't know how this will pan-out in the long run but it is nice to see some families going home with fresh fish for dinner. It's crazy how expensive sea food is at the markets now. The bites are coming on both the bait dragging and jigging set-ups. Our Nite Wreckin' trip this week was slower. The sea bass would have made a great difference --if we could have kept them. But starting Thursday night, we will have that opportunity. Besides the ling, we did have a few smaller blues come through the lights on Saturday night.
