March Troutin' - the NY Edition

Thmyorke1 and I traveled north into NY for some mid march troutin. We hopped in my truck and drove up arriving at the water mid-morning. First cast Luke got smoked by a nice fish that ultimately ended up coming off, but was a good sign. Shortly after, we doubled up on a pair of beauty browns.



Due to some serious ice in some sketchy places, we couldn't make it any further downstream so we started hiking up instead. Luke picked up a nice fish from a textbook habitat, while I lost one in some fast water.



We continued upstream hoping for a bit more good looking water, but this was territory we had never explored before so we weren't sure what we'd find. We found a few good looking holes but nothing eating in them, so we turned back around and hit the spot we had started in again, where I was able to pickup my second of the day.



We called it quits after that with a pair of trout each. Happy we explored some new water but will return to other spots we've found that produced better next time!
