Default Costa Rica (June 14 to 20, 2018): Marlin, mahi, roosterfish, trevally, tuna and more

Epic, amazing, awesome. No word seems to accurately describe this trip. The offshore marlin fishing was absolutely on fire. In just two and a half days we released 22 blue marlin from 200 to 400lbs, a striped marlin, a sailfish and a few big mahi mahi. In addition, we raised countless numbers of marlin into the spread.

My last two days in Costa Rica were spent fishing inshore along the coast. The fishing was nothing short of spectacular, and I caught a bunch of large roosterfish to 40 pounds, big bluefin trevally, horse eye jack, Pacific jack crevelle, Sierra mackerel, yellowfin tuna, mahi, snapper and houndfish (think 4ft needlefish). The scenery was beautiful as well, with mountains covered in dense tropical rainforest flowing down to the very edge of the sandy beaches.
