Default Big Smallies on spinnerbait

I have been trying to get out to the Susqy for several weeks but the water has been too high for the kayak. I had a trip booked with a friend that is a guide and finally got on the water. I knew where the fish had been stacked up prior to the water rise, but after a couple of hours of searching decided that they had moved to different areas. We were finally able to dial in on a pattern. They were located on the current seams of big fast water. We used spinnerbaits and ned rigs to target them. The strikes on the spinnerbaits were vicious, almost ripping the rod out your hands. There were not a ton of fish, but what they lacked in quantity they made up for in quality. I caught 30+ fish and they were all above 16". There were many 19s and 18s in the mix, but we could not crack 20" that day. The fish had all been feeding well and were fat. The big fish weighed 4.7 #. It turned out to be a great day of fall bassing. If you would like to see some pictures get on facebook and search for reel river adventures.
