Fishing LBI

We rented a house on the beach on LBI the week on July 2. I'm looking for advice on surf fishing. I've fished the surf many times in the Carolinas but I'm new to LBI. I'm bringing a kayak for the bay. I'm also considering an in shore shark charter. I'm a newcomer to LBI and any advice for a novice salt water fisherman is appreciated.
