8/30 Musky Weekend Report

With the cooler evenings there is definitely a safe window to get out and hit the water. I’ve been keeping an eye on things and the water temps in a couple dif locations have been right at about 77 in the morning. By midday you’ll probably have to call it quits but if you’re like me…a half day is better than none!

On Saturday I hit a lake close to the house that is just stocked with Hybrids. Didn’t see a thing haha. However, I did pick up a bonus 5.5lbs LMB. Thing hit that top water like a great white on shark week. Caught another 3 over 4lbs. I think I may have moderately upset the bass fisherman nearby lol.

Sunday took a little drive to another lake and put a 41” and 32” in the boat. Water temps were right at 76.7 first thing in the am. Both fish ate a Llungen DC-8. The bigger one ate on the third crank, the 3 foot Hybrid on the 6th turn of the figure 8. One of the funnier figure 8 fish I have caught. She was so hot she missed the bait honestly 4 times. Every time I added speed it only seemed to make her even more crazy.

Wife and I were off the water by 930 today. All in all not a bad weekend. Ready for a little bit colder weather to move in so the big girls can come out and play. Headed to Lake Chautauqua in NY for Labor Day weekend. I’ve never been but I’m going to give it the ole’ college try.
