Default Spruce Run 10-23-2014 Night Report

Those who battle what mother nature will throw at them will rip their just rewards.

Location: Spruce Run Kayak Ramp

Time: 7pm till 1am

Bait: Chicken Livers

Set Up: Slip bobbers and slip sinker rigs

So after rain quiet down and checking out the weather conditions at spruce I decided to head over there for another night time adventure. This time had my buddy with me who was yet to catch a hybrid and was skeptical that livers would work.

Got there by 7pm and fun have started. Wind was blowing like crazy and was having a really hard time of throwing the line with a bobber. Still managed to get a small cat on it. Around 8 cops showed up (first time I seen them there) and were monitoring our activity for half an hour periodically using a spot light to illuminate our fishing place. Did not bother of us since we were not doing anything out of this world besides a little drinking and I guess they were to lazy to go through mud to check on us. Wind was still picking up and now it was raining as well. Around 8:30pm my friend hooked up with his first hybrid around 22 inches and there is no way we were going to leave now. Fishing picked up after 9:30pm with both of us landing couple of more fat cats. By around 11pm wind finally died out and rain stopped and not long after that both of lines went screaming. Two more hybrids in a bag after a little aerial show and almost crossing our lines. By 12:30am we decided on our last cast and to head over home. Once again two more cats were on. By that time there was no wind period and no rain. Was a great night after all.

5 Cats and 3 Hybrids - all hybrids were over 22 inches.

Sorry for the bad picture quality - camera phone

Yours Truly,

Andre
