Default Rainy day at the turtle pond

Didn't get enough people at the Paramount this morning. Only manged 1 17" fluke at the dock and then went home. Worked from home until it cleared up. Tried to take a nap but it failed. Decided to try the neighborhood pond. Got a bit serious by buying a bunch of small killies. Wound up with around 30 bass, 5 crappie and a 23" channel cat. Bass were all pretty small, nothing over 14". 3 of the crappie were very nice 11" plus fish. If this wasn't the neighborhood hole it would be crappie sandwich for dinner. When I threw in a few lil killies, the bass and crappies were popping them along the bank like snook.

Bass wanted a weightless, bobberless presentation. Fished 4lb test and had some decent pullage. Turtles are out of control. I caught a 12" bass with a turtle attached to its tail. Then when some kids came down to fish, they had 2 turtles in a row on a pop-r. This meant that I had to remove a pop-r from a turtle's mouth twice today. Gave the kids the rest of my killies and had a laugh watching them manhandle 11" bass on flipping sticks.
