Default tagged fish report

2/24/2014 a Cheseapeake Bay gill netter caught and kept a 26" 6.5 lb striped bass near Kent Island, MD, that I caught, tagged and released in Barnegat Inlet 10/24/2013. That's the fourth striper that tagged in NJ that got caught and killed in a Cheseapeake Bay net, 2 by gill nets and 2 by pound nets. Another striper that I tagged was caught in a gillnet offshore of LBI and reported by a NMFS Observer. 2 fluke that I tagged in NJ got caught by draggers, 1 in the Hudson Canyon and the other one offshore of Accomack, VA. A bluefish that I tagged in NJ was caught and sold in a fish market from a Pamlico Sound, NC, gill net. A NC Division of Marine Fisheries Research Vessel caught one of my bluefish 7 miles east of Hatteras. 3 blues that I tagged in Barnegat Inlet were killed during an Oyster Creek shutdown in December a few years ago. Fish tagging is very interesting.
