Default TUNA.COM 2013 Season

Another great season in the books for both ground fishing and giant tuna fishing.

Ground fishing was one of the best to date with good consistent fishing. Average trips 50-150 fish were put in the box with a mix of cod, haddock, pollock and reds. Most of the fish were cod/haddock in the small to medium range, along with a couple to a few larges almost every day. Many days after limiting out on cod we would go to the deeper water and load up on delicious red fish. How many of my customers catch them for the first time and the next season when they show up say how good they were and request to fish for them again. And of course each day there was always a few slammer pollock in the mix. Most days was a 30 minute boat ride and only one drop of the anchor is all it took and not another boat in sight.

Giant tuna fishing was also fantastic. There were many trips with repeat customers getting it done again. One trip an 11 year old boy on a birthday gift from his mom caught 3 giants and lost 2 others. Many other trips we also had multiple giants caught and many lost....lots of epic battles with big fish. The giants were in the 200 to 900 pound range, with many close to the 900 as you will soon see. We are still fishing and hope to catch many more as the season continues. Last year we caught another 6 jumbos in December alone, the smallest 800 and the largest was 950. Hope to repeat that again.

The 2014 season is full for tuna, however we have about 10 dates open for ground fish in April, May and June. Call or email for details.

Thanks to all that fished with us again this season and looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Wicked Tuna to air early 2014
