Default jenny lee open boat slaughter job 10/17/13

capt's kevin gerrity and dave bender hosted an open boat trip on wednesday october 16th,2013. after 10 days of being sewed to the dock, we were itching to get back out to the edge. we new the ride out would not be nice, but it was a diminishing forecast, so we took the shot. we were greeted by a huge north east swell at the inlet, and hit the jackpot when friend, capt walt on " going in deep" offered for us to tuck behind him for the 90 mile ride out.. thanks walt. upon arriving at the canyon it was quite nice, we trolled without a touch , for about an hour or so and set up for the night. the anglers: john mcgrath/rockaway,murray greenburg/west long branch, bob gray, aka neil young/hamilton/bob long staten island/mike hanley/toms river, and my main man ray..ed calantoni. mike landed our first fish and only yellowfin within 20 minutes and we were very encouraged. we had a flurry shortly thereafter and we had several hookups, but lost a few. the guys were so jacked about jigging that we just simply had to many fish on at one time. our next flurry was about 1am and the boys really stepped it up going 10 for 10 on longfin. we had another shot around 4am and sure enough put in another 10 longfin. we added one more at false light, and decided to go on the troll. we added 2 more longfins and ran home in a beautiful ocean with 1 yellowfin and 29 longfins. the guys stayed up all night and worked their tails off, they have a lot of tuna to can for the winter.
