I have a 2x4 in my shed... It's 8' same action- will put a seat and guides on if ya want, that sounds like the rod that stays in the holder with a 130 on it till the fish is close and club it on the head with it- only my opinion though
I like a longer stick for jiggin and longer just for a lil wiggle room off the bulkhead
Did I say I would go longer?
