I had about an hour to fish this afternoon, and after 45 minutes of nothing, I moved upstream about 600 feet. With thunder starting to rumble, I felt dejected, anticipating a skunk. Well, on my first cast, my xrap in rainbow trout pattern gets HAMMERED as soon as it hits the water. After the best freshwater fight I have ever had, knees shaking and sweating bullets fearing my 6 lb test mono would not hold up, I landed my personal best smallie, three lbs six oz 18 inches.
