IMHO, best fishing for bass from the shoreline is in May. If you have a boat, there are no bad times to fish, especially for trout. But the fish might be deep so shoreline fishing is off when it's cold.

And you can't fish along the northeast shoreline where it's marked off because of nesting eagles, although very few people actually obey that rule.
