Look at the weather forecast lately, North East winds 25 to 30 mph.

Everyone's stuck in port. No point in getting your guts beat out.

Striped bass fishing has been slow. Read between the lines. The boats tend to embellish the reports. I’ve been out and been in around enough party boats, and other boats to see what’s been going on. Plenty of bait sometimes and not much underneath them chewing. I actually haven’t seen many stripers even boated around me.

The weather stinks and the bite has been inconsistent. Plenty of fish around, but the bite has been tough at times, mostly due to boat traffic. The resident fish are biting well on structures, but they are almost due to shuffle off to deeper holes or warmer climes.

This seasons fishery still has a ways to go in my opinion. Mostly all big fish right now and it's when the smaller ones show up that signals the end. I'll bet we'll be fishing well into December.

There's another reason to vote on Tuesday.

Something has to change.

Its insane that we have miles of stripers out there and we cant keep one for the table. How did they convince us that these huge schools of huge striped bass need to be protected? They have a better chance of dying of old age or in a giant BFT than on our table.

Will ALWAYS agree with voting! Just not sure where you expect the change to come from? ASMFC (Feds) calls the shots to the state/ NJDEP makes the regs for NJ so unless there is a vote Tuesday I am unware of let me know your thinking?

Why all the hypothetical on Capt Ron Fishermen? Do what I did, call the boat OR go on his website. Still Fishing / Catching when weather allows and all is well.

Watch the podcast. This candidate for governor has a plan to stop NJ recreational fisherman from getting ripped off. https://www.njfishing.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=125955
