Default Took Neighbor trouting at Prospertown Saturday

Took my neighbor John to Prospertown trout fishing for his first time. Pulled up around 5:30 in front of his house and started to text him when I was startled by something shifting in my truck bed. It was John loading his stuff. He said that he was up since 3:30 when he jumped in the cab. So off we went into the morning twilight. We arrived in Prospertown lot to 2 cars unloading. We got our stuff and headed up the dam. We got to the spot and I showed John what to do. He put up his chair and kicked back to wait for a bite. I got my first rod out and putting on a mousetail on the second when Johns rod doubled over. I dropped everything and grabbed the net. After a good fight I netted his first Trout as the sun tried to burn through the overcast. John got his second 5 minutes later. I had a runoff that didn't come tight. John got his third fish without even getting out of his chair on the top of the dam. Talk about spoiled. I came tight on another runoff. My reels drag and the bow in the rod told me it was a descent fish. It jumped and started to head down the bank. After descent fight I netted a nice chunk of a fish. John caught his limit and I got one more. We were home by eleven am. We will hit it at least a couple more times next week.
John caught 2 on rainbow powerbait and we caught the rest on chartreuse/orange mousetails. Saw one Crappie and two Pickerel caught. We had a cross wind blowing into the west. It was overcast and warm. Aquatic weed growth isn't bad and the water is still cold. Not much in the trout stomachs. Glad to have John out . Nothing like 2 old dudes having fun !
