Default Backbay report

Took a ride south this afternoon to work on the boat tomorrow. Did some scouting and casting around Barnegat Bay at sunset but didn't get anything. I was hoping it would turn on after dark but it was quiet and I didn't stay long. Anyway it was good to get out and I enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Not much of a report just wanted to break the ice and wish everyone good luck this season. I'm going to try again tomorrow night.

I went out yesterday for a few hours. Deadsticked for Flounder and casted for Bass for zero bites.

Brew just a matter of time before some winter flounder leave the mud to drop their eggs and start feeding before heading offshore. Todays temps and rain might be just what the doctor ordered.

Went out for a couple hours last night in a way back spot off Barnegat Bay. Started with an xrap with no results, then switched over to a jig low and slow. Got a bump and soon after hooked up and dropped it. Stayed for awhile and tried another spot but caught the skunk again. Seems when I have time to fish this season water temps are trending the wrong way and that was going on last night too. Saw alot of big Bunker in the first spot I tried and the next run of warmer weather will get things going.
