Default Omega Protein held accountable... Finally

Finally a bit of sanity in bunker management and a win for recreational fishermen. Let's just see how this plays out...

I've spent many days fishing the lower Chesapeake bay area. I can tell you first hand that Omega protein has wiped out not only the Menhaden, but croakers, spot, and any other fish that gets in the haul. They should be out of business.

Foreign vessels are involved too.Raritan Bay has been raped for years by bait boats. So you wonder where the weakfish and winter flounder went. Nets kill everything. In the late nineties early 2000 period we would watch the bait boats discard large stripers and weakfish on the south side of Raritan Bay. The other side of the bay is called "Princess Bay'' same body of water different name.New York has not not allowed purse seiners in the bay for decades. New jersey does!Go figure!!

I thought we imposed a 200 mile for the foreign fleet after the Russians wiped out the entire East Coast mackerel run in the 1970's. I remember the bumper stickers, 200 mile limit now !
