Default Striper Skunk - Raritan Bay

Snuck out for a few hours after work yesterday. No birds, no bunker no nothing so decided to troll some stretches around for a while to see if anything would develop... Lines in off of Port Monmouth and trolled west to Keansburg for a few hours without a touch.

Was going to take a sunset picture but even the sunset sucked

Spoke to a few guys back at the dock and some had a few earlier in the day and all were caught on the troll, Bunker spoons and Mojos.

Hope this full moon passing in the next few days will change things up a bit.

Fine report on a tough day.. In addition to the moon.. I never did as well on bright, bluebird days.. especially when traffic is high.. plus a LOT of fish heading up the river now.. tons of herring up here (Kingston) already, and bigger fish right behind them...

Has anyone tried pickling the herring? I understand it is different from the traditional blue herring that is marinated.
