Default Hopatcong Sunday

simple target today, jumbo perch. Electric drill powered by the marine battery to get through exactly 20.5" of ice not counting the snow build up on top. We smacked them up but it was more work than usual, they seemed to be transitioning maybe some started spawning idk, caught more males than usual and they were pretty spread out or moving a lot except for one hole that had 4 rapid fire in it. It was a good half day, no super pigs like usual but kept 6 out of the bunch that were perfect eating size.

I know a few others were out at cong today maybe they can post other reports below.

I also got out this AM on Hopatcong. I returned to weedy area where we had some decent jigging a few weeks ago but surprisingly completely struck out - not sure if they were shallower or deeper or what. A few dropped baits and a few small pickerel on tip ups. I was thinking it might be nice warm day with good fishing but it turned out windy as heck and even some snow flakes while I was leaving.

Hmm,

I was out there on Saturday and like everyone said had to work my ass off for every single fish. My friends flasher was proving useful but fish would not bite for anything. Got only couple of pickerels with one being decent and your assortment of sunnies, crappies and perch.

But man it was hard to get them out all around.
