Default Andreas Toy San Diego Bottom Fishing Trip

Hey guys hope you guys got through this past storm safely!
Had a business trip this week there and got stuck for an extra
Day and decided to try a local head boat. Fished on the Premier
Out of H and H landing. Comfortable boat and great service. At
This time of the year they fish within 15 miles for at least 40
Different species of Rockfish and other bottom dwellers. Seas were
Flat and beers were cold, and yes me and my co-worker did land
About a dozen fish from 6 inches to 3lbs. However, 300 feet
with 12 oz sinkers Got old after a while. Man I love my NJ fishing!

Good one Alex my ******* brother had one thing to do. Take a good pic I guess he was in shock cause he never saw a fluke that large in his life so he had to make it smaller like all his fish

Nice job Fred. They're not fishing the kelp right now for sandbass and calicoes?

Hey Allen, this boat seemed to concentrate on rocky
Bottom, fishing deep near the Coronado Islands.
Not sure if it was time of the year or the boat itself.
I know A few years ago I was on a center console
And we fished for kelp bass with lures not far from there.
Regular on the site O'connor might be able to shed
Some light on winter fishing there.

gents,
Rockfish season is closed in California waters from January 1st-march 1st. Coronados are in Mexican waters so the day boats are fishing there for bottom grabbers. Overnight vessels were still pulling tuna when I last checked. we should get going early this year for big white sea bass, yellowtail, halibut etc. if you want outstanding bottom fishing in so-cal the channel islands are off the charts. I love san diego...nice place. next time you come out drop me a pm and I will get you out for the giant makos we have out here. a friend is really dialed in...I got wayne of fish monger fame hooked up with him and he had one 700 lbs on stand up gear and they had another one over 1,000 lbs on the handline.
