Lost too many days relying on the NWS. Buoy Weather is the goto site. Unless the NWS changes their methods I won't even look at it.

Seems like the more technology we put up in space, the more inaccurate thr forecast become. I witnessed far too many completely opposite forecast in the last 4 years out on the water. Just afew days ago, when the forecast called for small craft advisory, I was on the phone with a friend of mind who was in a 23' boat, 4-5 miles offshore. He said "it is a beautiful day out here, glad I didn't listen to the waetherman".
You can add whatever type of explanation you want. As far as I'm concerned, if your going to plan a fishing trip based on the weather report, you might as well take up golfing.
And to be more blunt, the NWS S**ks.......BIGTIME!!

Well I appreciated the commentary. Thanks.

I was, and we all should be, glad to hear they are repairing the missing for too long buoys. It is nice to check them one last time right before you leave the dock.

"We currently have virtually no wind wave data on the waters, due in part to buoy equipment outages 44065 and 44025 completely out of service and 44009 with no wind data, only swell data. Those buoys will be restored to full service the week of September 15, or thereabouts (provided no Hurricane). "
