Default Delaware and Raritan Canal

Was up early this morning and drove to to the canal. Never fished it. Parked at Amwell road and strolled north.Caught some sunnies on a jig, but that was it. Highlight was watching a foot long dark colored bass devour a frog a spooked.
That got me mildly stoked, so I tossed some Senkos and finesse worms without luck. Lovely stroll to satisfy my curiosity. Any help on where to park and explore would be greatly appreciated.

Note : stopped at what looked like a newly constructed spillway that was made of attractive stone to change lures and two woman slowly jogged by. One of them was complaining about the structure, how stupid it is because it hurt her feet when she jogged across it. Guess she didn't bother to read the large sign explaining the spillway's purpose. People crack me up.

i grew up fishing the D & R, did most of my time around Griggstown, the locks is a great place, parking there, and you never know what is coming up, picked two walleyes out there a few years ago while dunking worms with the kids. There are also plenty of bass and pickerel in there, just get tough to fish as the weed growth picks up, best way is to float a canoe. We get two vehicles, leave one at Blackwells mills, then float from Griggstown down to BWM, usually takes us around 4 hours to float that stretch
