Guys, I just wanted to come back tonight and really thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words and advice. I will most definitely post some fish I catch! I will probably be near the Princeton area trying the canal south and maybe Carnegie, if you see a gentleman with a Seton Hall shirt in that area, feel free to say hi!

If you walk the towpath, which is between the lake and the canal, you'll find a few spots to access each body of water.

another easy setup is the basstender line of boats and similar. U can usually get a 10-12ft boat w trailer and all for a grand or so off craigslist, I fished out of one for years when i was broke and stupid, I caught LOTS of fish. My buddy fished Hopatcong up until last year w one on choice days. They are light and EASY to trailer w a car, easy to launch and fish solo too. Bad thing about rooftop canoes is the amount of work to load and unload and u need a buddy to go too. A boat is much more stable too u can stand up in it, canoes not so much, but they all have there place
