Default Saturday on the Cape

Wife, FIL and I went out for a half day on a PB in Hyannis, not the HH

Boat was railed, Capt started day saying current would be ripping, porgies tough to find, blackfish hard to catch and sea bass plentiful but 99% small

MA rules, scup 10 inches, sea bass 14 and blackfish 16

Every spot, drop and reel, leave the first down, catch a double.. Porgies mainly 8 - 9.75. Sea bass 5 - 13.5 and last 3 drops, tog, 10 - 15.5

By end of day, FIL had 2 keeper tog, about 5 and 4 pounds. We had 12-15 porgies, 10.25 - 10.5, 2 a bit bigger

Maybe 10 big porgies on boat all rest just over the 10 inch mark. 5 keeper sea bass and maybe 8 tog. biggest tog about 8 pounds

Nonstop catching, just very little keeping

Interesting situation, we did not want porgies and told mate from start he could have them. He gave us a milk crate to put them in. At end of day we gave him porgies and asked to have 2 tog filleted. He gave fillets and asked for $4 for cleaning the 2 fish. No big deal, was tipping an amount for cleaning and service, but was taken aback that after being given fish he want the $4. All said and done, cost hinm a few$$.

Also, they have a customer walk tip bucket around instead of having direct tips. Tourist town, tourist rules I suppose.
