Default Weeds, what to fish????

Seems like the weeds exploded in the last couple weeks everywhere! Depending on how you look at it could be good or bad. The lake I fish locally is a relatively shallow lake maybe ten to twelve feet at the deepest. Seems like the middle of the lake has no weeds or fish for that matter, hard bottom made up of mostly clay. As you move closer to the shore the weed beds start just before the shallows. Been fishing spinnerbaits and been pretty successful but becoming more of a pain removing weeds on almost every cast. Been trying to figure out a more productive way to fish the weed beds. Not much emergent weeds to fish a frog on either. Started fishing a havoc pit boss texas rigged and seems to be pretty weedless and has some nice action. Just looking for some suggestions to try out.

zman chatterbait works well in weeds, and catches fish too.

.

A plastic worm, Texas-rigged on a split shot rig often works for me when the water gets ugly.
