Default North Branch Mystery Solved

I went back to the same spot I fished yesterday. Sure enough my new fishing partner, Mr. Grey Heron, was there on point again. Then I sadly found out why he comes so close to humans. There was a man fishing near where I was yesterday. He was catching trout, breaking their necks and throwing them to the heron to eat. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I questioned him and told him he is feeding the heron $6.99 a pound fish. He stated he feeds the heron trout every day along with sunfish. I thought I saw everything until today. Just doesn't make any sense. I then told him to give me the fish he doesn't want and I'll give them to someone who would appreciate a fish meal. I may have been a little too calm and kind to this guy. it's bothering my conscience now.
When he left I caught seven brown trout. All of a sudden brown trout are all over the river. We'll see what they stock tomorrow.

Wait till that thing attacks someone because they dont feed it since its used to getting food from humans it will expect it every time now.. Or worse come after you when you do catch a fish..

That's just plain dumb......hand feeding wildlife is never a good idea. But I guess there have only been about a million publicized examples of that so I can see how he missed it!?!?!?!?

Just when you think things are stupid.....they get stupider.

That dude is not doing the critter any favors. I could see tossing a sunny one time but to train the bird to accept food from humans is unnatural and puts the heron at risk of being abused but an even more ignorant (cruel) type.

That's exactly what I told him when he called me the other day to tell the story!
This guy will end up causing another idiot to do harm to this bird!
Can't win ! Simple leave wildlife to their own habits, they'll get along just fine!
