Heard about it awhile back and then saw it on an FLW tournament show on Versus. Would love to get an ultralight version of this thing, I can think of a place that this thing would DESTROY the bass, it's loaded with shad.

Picked up a few 1/2oz "Bama rigs" at the Somerset Saltwater show yesterday. I can recall a few situations where these things wouldve come in really handy. Anyone know offhand the Legality of multiple hook rigs in NJ freshwaters?

Although I don't feel that they should be allowed in tournaments, they've been used for quite sometime on saltwater trolling. One place I definately think I'll be using this is Spruce Run in the summer evening.

I think that if your a meat fisherman that is the way to go. If you are a sport fisherman than I would say no.
To each his own.

As far as I know the rule in Jersey is 9 hook points total per person. This means 9 rods with one hook each or one lure with 3 trebles, or any combo in between. That's the way I understand it anyway.

Valid question. There was a small write up on the rig in the recent Field and Stream and they mentioned it was illegal is multiple states. Not sure if NJ is one of them.

And it mentioned that they are barred from the bigger bass fishing tourney circuits after 2 different guys on consecutive tournaments cleaned up with them.

Smaller ones with grubs used for crappie pretty efectively but in terms of other fishing i dunno if ppl wanna use it good fer them if not good for them too as far as legality u can only fish 3 rods at a time not 9 with singles hooks used to be five rods but they downed it to three and also looked into it and my understand is three hooks on anyone luer treble or regular seen people throw it with all 5 though at bradys yesterday
