We had our annual opening day Tog trip scheduled with JC, but since the tog were't being coperative we set out for the stripers.
JC had breakfast already going when we got there, which was nice on a cold morning. This years crew: Jon Devin, Matt Perilo, Brian McCutcheon, Leif Pettersen and Mike. Fished off IBSP and had a great trip ending up with a full boat limit. The fish were feeding on sand eels, squid, herring, bunker...... A very strange bite where you could see the fish swirling all over the place , but not taking our jigs when put right in front of them. John Cole did a great job of keeping us in the middle of the action. Jon Devin and Leif were our hot rods for the day hammering th bass on their spinning gear. JD was high hook with 5 keepers. Hopefully, the blackfish will start to heat up shortly!!

Good job gentleman.
Howie, Not as many Blackfish posts as you would expect for opening day. Most of those that did post had less than a steller day. Thanks to you and the others who told it like it was. Bill

We didn't even try for tog. The bass likes a slow retrieve off the bottom. Good healthy fish and just a few shorts. Also caught some good size squid and some sun dials. Thanks for the lunch Howie.
