![]() Looking to pick up an "economically priced" conventional rod for jigging. I'm a freshwater guy primarily but get out a couple of times a year for Seabass or fluke so not looking to break the bank. Been using my fresh water stuff but it gets to be a bit of a pain with the heavier weight. Looked at a Tsunami Sapphire XT Pro 6'3" jigging rod $59, and Ugly Stick Tiger Lite Jigging rod $69 both rated for 1-4 oz. Haven't done much research yet so figured I'd see what the experts on here think...are these fine, one over the other, something out there that is better, do I need to spend a little more?
Thanks in advance for the help.

![]() Stop buy Kevin Bogans place in Pt Pleasant as i was looking for a nice quality rod at a reasonable price for fundraiser i am doing to help friend out who has neice with MS. Kevin over heard me speaking to guy who was helping me out and told him that being it was going to a good cause that any rod i choose would be discounted by 50%. I told him that would not be necessary as i was paying for rod to be donated. He would not have it,whoever wins this rod is going to get one sweet rod that is nicer than almost any rod i own. Kevin comes up with some whacky post at times but is always there to help out. Truly a stand up guy. Thank you for your kindness Mr Bogan.
While there i was originally going to go with 7 ft pre made custom Rod as soon as you walk in on the left wall for 95 bucks prior to getting offer of 50% off. This is the rod you should look at as it has nice components, light rod in weight with some nice power on the backend. This would make a real nice all around rod for what you are looking for at 95 bucks it is a steal. Last edited by MVP; 08-15-2016 at 09:53 PM.. |

![]() One last tip of advice. MAke sure to bring the reel you plan to fish with to make sure it balances well on rod you are purchasing. Also depending on reel you are using some times they do not fit properly into real seat on rod so always a good idea to bring reel or reels with you

![]() Hey Ken, Check out the Shimano Trevela. The 6'6" MH. It's very versatile and you can find them for around $100. It will handle anything from Bucktailing/ dragging bait for fluke and seabass to jigging/chunking striped bass. That's the rod I was using on Mikey's boat that day.
