First Wiper! and Bonus Slab......

Had off yesterday and decided to try out a resi I haven't been to in a while and have only been to twice. Last time there the only thing I caught was a summons, lol..... Anyway, got on the water around 8:30 and was more interested in seeing how my new TM prop would function. It was a noticeable upgrade, so I did some doughnuts and took off to find a spot.

Pulled up to a nearby cove and as I was getting ready I had fish sporadically blowing up around me. Had one rod trailing a herring behind me while tossing a few casts in toward the shallows. Look down and see my line on my bait rod taking off so I grabbed it and set the hook. Fish on!! After a decent battle I netted my first hybrid! Small, but fought like a 3# smAllie!! Was actually two firsts in one cause it was my first wiper and also first hybrid of any kind.

Little while later I dropped two lines and motored into the shore to sit in the shade for a few. As soon as I walked back to the boat one rod took off and I saw another lite colored fish coming in. Lazy wiper? Nope, ended up being a slabby crappie!

Called it a day soon after due to impending heat stroke. Managed another small Larry as I was unloading the boat. Not a bad day and mission accomplished!!

Fish, jump in the water, fish again, jump in the water. It's a hot one out there with no shade. Good to see you exploring and unlocking some secrets that body of water holds. It's a tough one that can be very, very rewarding once you figure it out. Giant slab! Congrats on your first BRID G!!!
