A little chilly this morning but turned out to be a beautiful day.
The cod fishing started out good, with Norman lifting a keeper over the rail barely a minute after I sounded the horn. The first half was steady action of school sized cod up to 10lbs. Not too many throw backs but we did have to weed through some greyhounds. I believe all the cod were caught on clam today. I tried jigging but didn't have any success. The guys that did the best were from Indiana and Kentucky catching 12 nice keeper cod between the 3 of them. Those guys made me and Bill and Ol Pedro look like rookies -- Good for them. The second half of the day, the wind picked up from the south and our cod bite fizzled out. Tomorrow is a no-go because of bad weather. Friday and Saturday look good. Sunday was supposed to be our offshore tilefish trip but the offshore wind report is too much. So we will shape up on Sunday morning also.
