I just booked a 5 day fly fishing trip to Fernie, BC. for August.
What's the best "waders"? I think even the breathable wader might be too hot. Water shoes allow small pebbles and sands to get in but most of all, I kept hitting the rocks and my toes get bruised. Any brilliant suggestions? Thank you |

Not sure if they will be to hot for you, but when I go stream/pond fishing, I use my lightweight chest waders by "field and stream" with the neoprene stocking foot, and corker boots (non slip on the rocks) Now, I'm a big time sweat monster LOL, and they are not bad at all in the summer because of the light material. Sometimes at the end of the day after spending the day in the river, I pour out a pile of little stones etc from my boot, but because of the neoprene foot, I have NO idea they were even in there. Just a suggestion.

you can get wading boots, like the ones you would wear over sock foot waders. they're meant to go in the water completely but aren't open so rocks won't get in and you can't stub your toe. then you could wear water socks or go barefoot in them and wear swimming shorts.
