I would like to try for some walleyes in some deep holes that I found close to shore on the Delaware River and I am wondering what would be the best bait ,lures etc to use this time of year. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Live bait worked slow on the bottom works well, grab some shiners, leeches, or (if you can get your hands on them) brook lampreys. As far as lures go, try hair jigs tipped with Gulp, or swimbaits and diving plugs worked slow along the bottom. Spool up with braid, as walleyes will hit extremely lightly this time of year.

There's so many different tactics for Walleye it can be mind boggling! Can't go wrong with jigs tipped with shiners or nite crawlers this time of year. Get yourself a bunch of lead head jigs in assorted sizes and colors. Couple bags of 3-5 inch twister tails, finesse minnows and assorted plastics. The river Walleye really appreciate some meat on the jig this time of year. Good luck out there! Hope you find the Walleye your looking for!

I would think so....not cold at all plus it's overcast with a front coming through.
Sound like good conditions from what I understand about these fish.

LOW light conditions.. Crack of dawn while its actually still mostly dark, until maybe an hour after first light... Then in the evening from about an hour before dusk until an hour or so after.. Some guys fish in the dead of the night for them as well, but thats usually better with live bait.. At low light periods around dawn and dusk, all I have ever needed was 1/4 to 1/2 ounce plain jig heads with a twister tail, FinS or Sluggo... They will hit plugs but deep divers will cost a fortune getting hung. Jigs are cheap and work as good as anything else.. I have outfished live bait guys plenty of times with cheap twister or grub tails on unpainted lead heads.. Walleyes are usually close to bottom.. Keep the jigs close to it, and if Walleyes are around they will hit at dawn and dusk most days... bob
