Drilling with the 6" manual is getting old and I am looking into purchasing a power auger.
Anyone care to share their experience with Eskimo Power Augers? I am looking at the Mako or Shark 8". Thanks |

I've been using my buddies Eskimo 43cc Mako. The thing is a work horse and gets through the thick ice in no time. They're on sale on certain websites. It's a pretty light weight auger as well.

I can't comment on the Eskimo but I have had a strike master since the late 1980's and it still runs like a champ. I was cutting through 20" plus on sunday with an 8" auger in about twenty to thirty seconds

I run a strikemaster 8.25" w chipper blades and it cuts like nothing and the blades dont dull like straight blades do in dirty ice, thats a consideration depending on where you fish. weight is also a big deal

I have the 33cc stingray. A few minor issues but awesome customer service and a light machine to carry around. I'd buy it again if I had the option.
